Woodlands London Trip

Woodlands embarked on a thrilling journey to our very own capital on Tuesday 10th October. Our journey began bleary-eyed at dawn at Saxmundham where we caught the train to London Liverpool Street Station. Upon arrival, our students had the opportunity to explore the nearby sights, taking in the historic wonders of London. The students marvelled at the landmarks such as: The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Horseguards and 10 Downing Street. After our sightseeing adventure, we paused for a lunch outside the National Gallery. The students enjoyed their meals while taking in the world-famous Trafalgar Square. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the visit to the Royal Opera House, where we had the privilege of watching a spectacular performance of "L'elisir d'amore." The students were amazed by the magnificent production, and many were introduced to the world of opera for the first time. It was an unforgettable experience that will leave a lasting impression. We then delved into the rich history of London's transportation at the London Transport Museum. The students explored vintage buses, trains, and trams, gaining insight into the evolution of transportation. They particularly enjoyed the tube simulator. Our London trip concluded with a delicious dinner at Pizza Express. Our students enjoyed the pizzas and shared stories, there was lots of laughter. I would like to thank the PTA and the Royal Opera House for their kind donation to the school to help with the costs of the trip.
